About Kerry

KERRY PRESTON is Energy Intelligence’s Senior Oil Markets Correspondent based in London, with more than 20 years’ experience covering Europe’s refined product markets.

She has a particular interest in unusual trade flows and market innovations and was the first to write about newly built very large crude carriers being used to ship diesel and jet fuel from Asia to Europe. Her in-depth coverage of Europe’s jet fuel market has more recently led to a new specialism in the emerging sustainable aviation fuel sector.

Kerry cut her teeth on oil markets at the Oxford Institute for Energy Studies, having previously worked as a Coffee Market Analyst with LMC Commodities. She went on to work as a Price Reporter and Editor of European products for Petroleum Argus.

Kerry holds a bachelor’s degree in philosophy, politics and economics from the University of Oxford and a master’s degree in development economics from London’s School of Oriental and African Studies.
