Jet fuel demand in a group of representative countries reached a post-pandemic peak of nearly 3.6 million b/d in June. Asia-Pacific countries posted the strongest gains in the run-up to the peak summer travel season after remaining travel restrictions were lifted. Japanese consumption jumped to a four-year high of 245,000 b/d. Bonded fuel used on the international flights drove most of the gain. Australian demand climbed 36% above year-ago rates to 169,000 b/d — reaching a post-pandemic high.
