Denmark’s joint venture jet fuel supplier DCC & Shell Aviation Denmark has taken the first delivery of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) into its new large-scale SAF storage facility at Oiltanking Copenhagen’s Provestenen terminal. “From Oiltanking … we are not only able to send SAF directly into the pipelines to Copenhagen Airport. We can also efficiently reach the other airports through our existing supply network. This will facilitate the availability of SAF for all parties as a step in the aviation sector’s transition to more sustainable forms of energy," said DCC & Shell Aviation Denmark’s head of sustainability and strategy Sune Petersen. The firm has been supplying SAF to Sonderbord Airport for domestic flights to Copenhagen since 2021. It has since added SAF deliveries to Billund Airport and to Air Greenland at Copenhagen, which signed up for 5% SAF in March. DCC & Shell Aviation Denmark already supplies conventional jet to nine airports across Denmark.
