The biennial nuclear fuel report released by the World Nuclear Association (WNA) this week remained bullish on the long-term outlook for nuclear energy's growth, with a near doubling of global nuclear capacity by 2040, but was relatively restrained in its newbuild prognosis. This restraint was in stark contrast to the WNA's separate "Net Zero Nuclear" initiative, which alongside key partners in the UAE and the UK, seeks to promote a tripling of existing nuclear capacity by 2050.
