September gas futures rebounded 8.1¢ Monday to $2.632 per million Btu as heat drove an increase in power-sector gas burn. “Supply fundamentals are little changed, with production and Canadian imports seeing modest weekend gains,” Gelber & Associates analysts said. “Contrary to the expectations of some weather models, South Central [US] temperatures have returned to extreme levels. … Forecasts expect sustained increases as the week continues.”
