September Nymex gas futures dropped 7.4¢ Tuesday to $2.56 per million Btu as much of the US is finally seeing relief from record heat. “Power burn has dropped 2.4 billion cubic feet today, and as both realized and forecasted temperatures continue to cool the downtrend in power burn is likely to continue,” Gelber & Associates analysts said. “The decrease in demand is already making its mark, and has pushed cash prices in the Northeast and West regions down.”
