August gas futures tumbled 9.9¢ Wednesday to $2.632 per million Btu despite maintenance driving dry gas production toward a one-month low. According to Refinitiv estimates based on pipeline flows, dry gas production fell 1.1 billion cubic feet per day Wednesday to 99.4 Bcf/d, down 3.1 Bcf/d from a week ago. “The [price] move downward today appears bizarre until weather is considered,” Gelber & Associates analysts said. “Contrary to market expectations, today major weather models predicted cooler temperatures for the next two weeks.”
