China EV Ownership Ratio Up

The electric vehicle (EV) ratio in China’s total automobile fleet is nearing the 5% mark, latest data from the traffic department showed. As of end-June, cumulative EV ownership in China has reached 16.2 million units, accounting for 4.9% of the total automobile fleet in the country, advancing from the year-ago ownership ratio of 3.23%. Among EVs, all-electric models were the majority, accounting for nearly 12.6 million units, with the remaining being either plug-in hybrid or fuel cell models.
