Japan Airlines (JAL) has signed a sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) supply agreement with Shell Aviation to provide all of its aircraft refueling at Los Angeles (LAX) Airport exclusively with blended SAF from 2025. In a Jun. 16 statement JAL said Shell would supply “SAF volumes equivalent to its current estimated jet fuel uplifts in LAX over the supply period.” JAL is aiming to use 1% SAF across its entire operations from 2025, rising to 10% by 2030. Shell is also aiming for 10% SAF sales by 2030.
