July gas futures traded in an 11.8¢ range Monday but climbed just 1.2¢ to settle at $2.266 per million Btu. Despite moderating weather forecasts, meteorologists still expect temperatures in the southern US to reach into the 90s and 100s later this month, keeping prices supported even as US shale gas production sets records.
