Kazakhstan’s decision last June to create a new oil export blend, Kebco, in place of standard Russian Urals crude, has provided much-needed protection for its national champion, Kazmunaigas (KMG), which relies heavily on Russian state pipeline operator Transneft to get its barrels to market.
