The cost of building LNG capacity, be it liquefaction or regasification, is rising as inflation in labor and materials coincides with services constraints. Developers must remain disciplined and resist the temptation to push ahead with LNG schemes at any price if they are going to preserve returns, given our projections for a potentially oversupplied market later this decade.
