India’s first energy transition policy document, a cornerstone for the country's path to net zero by 2070, is shrouded in controversy. Just days after a top-level government committee, headed by an adviser to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, released the document earlier this month, the oil ministry hastily put out a tweet, virtually disassociating itself from some key recommendations.
