The South Asian country is on track to become the third-largest aviation market in the world by 2024. Its Oil Minister Hardeep Singh Puri said the government may set a 2025 target for 1% SAF usage by domestic airlines as he outlined India's pathway toward reaching its net-zero emissions goal by 2070. Indian jet fuel demand jumped by 50% in fiscal 2022/23 to around 160,000 barrels per day from a year earlier.
