The Tesla-led automobile price-cutting war in China took an unexpected turn this month, when the US electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer revealed a token price increase — eliciting sighs of relief from both internal combustion engine (ICE) and EV circles. Just as it took the lead in cutting prices to pass on the benefits of lower costs, Tesla has also reacted quickly to stem a growing "wait-and-see" approach by consumers hoping for even lower prices.
