After an early morning tumble to $2.031, June natural gas futures climbed 3.6¢ Friday to $2.137 per million Btu on the heels of what had been a four-session, 30.9¢ slide. “This appears to have stabilized the market in the short term as prices were returning to lows, but there are still bearish price influences that signal a return back to those lows,” Gelber & Associates said, attributing the day’s price recovery to a forecasted cooling of temperatures.
