Buyers are asking for certificates of origin alongside the usual bills of lading amid fears that sanctioned Russian diesel could be finding its way back to Europe disguised as fuel made elsewhere. Bystanders suggested the move showed the market's own efforts to carry out due diligence in the absence of any independent oversight.
