May gas futures dipped to $2.17 early Tuesday only to rally to a $2.307 per million Btu settlement — up 3.4¢ on the day -- in the contract’s second-to-last day on the board. Short-term weather forecasts shifted cooler with below-normal forecasts projected through early May, adding about 4 billion cubic feet of demand to the outlook, Gelber & Associates analysts said.
