May gas futures climbed 2.7¢ Thursday to $2.249 per million Btu as gas storage inventories saw a larger-than-expected build. Meanwhile, fluctuations in temperatures and wind "have been causing significant volatility" in the central US, Texas and the Northeast, Gelber & Associates analysts said.
