Big corporations need to meet ESG goals and have a strong incentive to reduce emissions from their business travel. Airlines need more funds to pay the steep premium for sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), which ranges from two to three times the cost of conventional jet fuel. And production needs to scale up to meet huge airline demand for SAF — the main tool to decarbonize aviation and reach the industry’s goal for net zero by 2050.
