Turkey was the main destination for Russian LNG cargoes from Gazprom’s recently launched Portovaya facility on the Baltic Sea coast in the first quarter of 2023, reflecting the difficulties in marketing the Russian state-run giant’s LNG into Europe, market sources say. Europe was the most promising market for these LNG volumes before Russia invaded Ukraine last year.
