In the first half of an interview published last week, Holtec Senior Vice President for International Projects Richard Springman told Energy Intelligence's Jessica Sondgeroth why and how Holtec decided to design and market its own small modular reactor (SMR), which it is calling the SMR-160. In the US, a first-of-a-kind version of this design may be built at the decommissioning site that Holtec owns at Oyster Creek, in New Jersey. In this second half of the interview, a shortened and edited version of which appears below, Springman discusses Holtec's plans to export the SMR-160 to the UK and beyond.
