Calls for More SAF Support in Europe as US Capacity Races Ahead

Europe’s sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) policies are “not sufficient on their own to attract investment.” That warning came from International Airline Group’s Group Head of Sustainability Jonathon Counsell, who was speaking at Economist Impact’s 8th Sustainability Week conference in London this week. He told the audience that lots of activity on SAF was under way worldwide, but that “the US is very much leading the way.”
