As the push to decarbonize power generation intensifies, utilities, end-users and governments need to adopt a more sophisticated understanding of carbon footprints in the power sector to maximize the efficacy of decarbonization. Speakers at the CERAWeek by S&P Global conference in Houston last week also impressed the need to switch from emphasizing outright renewable capacity additions to more holistic approaches that target multi-pronged low-carbon power solutions that can ensure delivery of net-zero electricity across days and seasons.
