Last month's news that the respective Chinese owners of Namibia's two operating uranium mines will ramp up investment in the country's uranium sector may mean that a long-predicted Namibian uranium boom is finally here. The southwestern African country has for years been home to uranium juniors touting enormous around-the-corner production. But with higher uranium prices and long-term offtake contracts being offered at the rates necessary for juniors to actually move into production, and with the new votes of confidence in the country's yellowcake sector out of Beijing, Namibian uranium output does look set to start increasing.
