Western fuel provider Urenco increased its order book in 2022 and now plans to expand its portfolio to include a high-assay low-enriched uranium (Haleu) plant and low-enriched uranium (LEU) enriched to 5%-10% production, otherwise known as LEU+. Meanwhile, the US Senate introduced a bill that would ban imports of Russian nuclear fuel and the White House released a budget proposal that offers little funding for rebuilding the US nuclear fuel industry.
