India's massive order for new aircraft will accelerate the slow recovery in its jet fuel demand in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic. Jet fuel consumption is expected to rise by 16% to 186,000 barrels per day in the April 2023-March 2024 fiscal period. According to an oil ministry forecast, demand will exceed pre-Covid-19 levels for the first time as it regains ground from an estimated 160,000 b/d a year earlier.
