While many US natural gas producers have global ambitions, Pittsburgh-based CNX Resources is keeping it local. The company recently rolled out its Appalachia First Vision, a strategy aimed at supplying in-basin markets rather than looking for international customers. The company already has a long-standing partnership with Pittsburgh International Airport (PIT) that is now exploring converting gas produced on-site into alternative fuels to decarbonize the transport sector. EI interviewed CNX President of New Technologies Ravi Srivastava about the new approach and the company’s partnerships. This transcript has been edited for length and clarity.
