The continued post-Covid-19 recovery of the aviation sector is propelling most of the expected gain in world oil demand this year. Jet fuel consumption is expected to climb by 12% or some 717,000 barrels per day to 6.9 million b/d, according to Energy Intelligence data. That’s nearly half of the 1.6 million b/d rise that will bring global oil demand to 101 million b/d in 2023.
