Private Players Set Sights on Oklahoma Niche Plays

Oklahoma’s powerhouse Scoop and Stack plays have largely been the province of bigger explorers such as Devon Energy, Ovintiv, Marathon Oil and the recently privatized Continental Resources. But a handful of smaller, private operators are pursuing new opportunities in old fields on the fringes of those plays, according to Bryan Bottoms, vice president of geology at Detring Energy Advisors.
