Four years of litigation involving Atlantic Sunrise, the last major greenfield pipeline to enter service in Appalachia, came to an end this week when a federal appeals court rejected a claim by a group of Roman Catholic nuns in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. The nuns have continued to challenge Williams' right to route the pipeline through their property in “gross violation of their deeply held religious convictions.”
