Taiwan's Civil Aeronautics Administration (CAA) has said preconstruction work on a new international terminal at Kaohsiung Airport will begin next year. The news coincided with Taiwan's Oct. 13 reopening of its borders after Covid-19. Prior to that the country still had among the world's most stringent travel restrictions, including mandatory quarantines. Taiwan's main carriers China Airlines and Eva Airways have already ramped up flights to resume capacity on routes which were slashed during the pandemic.
