Many companies have set ambitious emissions goals in recent years, but tracking and advancing toward those goals is a complex endeavor that many lack the expertise or software to accomplish. Solutions are emerging to come alongside companies in this tricky task, including France-based start-up Sweep, founded in 2020. Sweep — which has a handful of clients at present but is talking with more interested parties — aims to give polluting companies a software platform that is more guided than Microsoft Excel. It offers more specialized programming that allows companies to analyze and track their emissions and advance toward their goals, says the company’s vice president of climate action, Renaud Bettin, in an interview.
