October gas futures rose 7.5¢ to $6.903 per million Btu. The contract could get a further boost Tuesday from precautionary shut-ins in the Gulf from Hurricane Ian that could take about 1 billion cubic feet per day of gas off the table in the near term. The 12-month strip fell 1¢ to $5.962; the 2023 calendar strip fell 3.1¢ to $5.525 (Futures table).
