European Snapshot: Summer Travel Surge Depletes Jet Stocks

Start of the summer travel season in June sparked mayhem at European airports and also took a bite out of regional jet fuel stocks. Additional flights lifted jet fuel demand above the 5 million tons threshold for the first time in three years. Regional tanks fell to 8 million tons or more than 25% below the year-ago mark, when demand was severely depleted. The UK showed the largest 40% stock deficit versus last year, followed by Spain, Italy and Germany.
