Kazakhstan’s national oil and gas champion Kazmunaigas (KMG) has exercised its option to buy back an 8.33% stake in the giant Kashagan oil development from its parent, sovereign wealth fund Samruk-Kazyna, doubling its interest in the project to 16.88%.
