October gas futures tacked on 3.5¢ to $8.284 per million Btu Tuesday, consolidating Monday’s rise back into an $8/MMBtu range. Bulls continue to defy increasingly bearish trends in storage, weather and especially production as uncertainty over what the coming winter might bring prevents a significant selloff at this juncture. The 12-month strip rose 5.4¢ to $6.852; the 2023 calendar strip was up 5.3¢ to $6.209 (Futures contracts).
