Two immense pipeline projects linking Nigerian natural gas fields to Northern Africa have gained traction amid wider European interest in securing African supply. Whether the pipelines will ever secure enough funding commitments remains unclear due to a slowing global economy and inherent project challenges. But with Europe and Africa desperate to find new supply sources, political momentum could just about push them forward.
