September gas futures fell 14.4¢ Thursday to $8.122 per million Btu in the wake of a surprisingly robust storage inventory build. The data cut short a continued rally by the futures market after Freeport LNG said Wednesday that it would resume operations in October. The 12-month strip fell 9.1¢ to $6.657; the 2023 calendar strip was down 5.3¢ to $5.613 (Daily cash prices).
