Industrialized countries spurred all of the gain in global jet fuel demand in April, when liftings climbed by 3% from March to 2.85 million b/d. The four largest European markets led the recovery with an 84,000 b/d volume rise generated mainly at airports in the UK and Italy. More international flights boosted fuel usage in Australia/New Zealand by nearly 10%. Demand in the big US market reached a 1.5 million b/d plateau, but limited foreign travel caused shrinkage in Japan.
