Asian Prices Jump on Prelude FLNG Shutdown

Northeast Asian spot LNG prices rose $1 week on week to $42 per million Btu, according to World Gas Intelligence assessments for deliveries four to eight weeks ahead. Spot prices in Southwest Europe were assessed $2.70 lower at $40.20/MMBtu. The UK National Balancing Point day-ahead price was assessed 9¢ higher at $26.74/MMBtu, while the August front-month ICE contract fell $7.75 to $26.42/MMBtu. Netbacks for Mideast sellers in Asia were about $1.75/MMBtu higher than in southwest Europe, while UK/Belgian netbacks were $15.31/MMBtu lower than in Asia.
