Fuel Prices Continue to Outpace Crude Gains

Fuel prices are racing ahead of crude as traders scramble to service pent-up demand for all forms of travel after the pandemic. “This will be one of the busiest [US] driving seasons ever,” predicted Edward Moya of Oanda. Latest government data show US demand for gasoline well above pre-Covid-19 levels even as pump prices head toward $5 per gallon.
