EVs to Gain Kick-Start From High Oil Prices

Soaring prices at the pump are bound to force many consumers to think twice about owning a conventional vehicle and think harder about going electric. So far, data on electric vehicle (EV) sales aren't showing significant changes beyond the upward sales trend that was already under way (see table). But experts expect EVs to see a noticeable boost in the coming months and in the longer run, particularly if high oil prices persist as is widely expected.
