Walmart has tapped green hydrogen player Plug Power to supply the clean fuel to power equipment at the retail giant’s distribution and fulfillment centers in the US. The deal highlights emerging markets for zero-emissions hydrogen as companies across the economy look to decarbonize their operations. Under the deal announced Tuesday, Walmart has the option to take delivery of up to 20 tons/day of liquid green hydrogen from Plug for use in material-handling lift trucks in its warehouses.
