In response to Europe's intention to stop using Russian oil and gas completely by the end of this decade, President Vladimir Putin has called for the construction of new oil and gas pipelines to the East, as well as the expansion of eastern and northern ports and the further development of the Northern Sea Route (NSR) in the Arctic.
