India is reclaiming its role as a key driver for global jet fuel consumption with demand that is well along the road to recovery. A rebound to pre-pandemic levels is expected by late 2023 — ahead of global trends. The federal oil ministry estimates jet fuel demand will average 169,000 barrels per day in the current financial year, or just 10% below 2019 levels. India's total refined product consumption is expected to rise above pre-pandemic levels this year as economic growth picks up momentum.
