Anatoly Chubais, President Vladimir Putin's special envoy on sustainable development, has left his post and reportedly fled Russia in protest of the war in Ukraine. Chubais, who guided Russia's privatization drive in the early 1990s, had served as Putin's envoy since late 2020, pushing the country's decarbonization and carbon trading program.
