European Spot Prices Regain Their Premium to Asia

Northeast Asian spot LNG prices dropped by $2 to $30 per million Btu, according to World Gas Intelligence assessments for deliveries four to eight weeks ahead. Spot LNG prices in Southwest Europe were assessed $2.60 higher at $31.80/MMBtu, again putting them at a premium to Asia. The UK National Balancing Point day-ahead price was assessed $4.89 higher at $31.68/MMBtu, while the ICE April contract rose $2.50 to $32.16/MMBtu. Netbacks for Mideast sellers in Asia were over $1.75/MMBtu lower than in Southwest Europe, while UK/Belgian netbacks were $1.45/MMBtu higher than in Asia.
