The head of Lot Polish Airlines has called for the EU’s Emissions Trading System (ETS) to be scrapped, at least for the duration of Russia’s war in Ukraine. He argues that sky-high jet fuel prices are already driving fuel efficiency gains and that “unnecessary” environmental charges could put struggling European airlines out of business.
