April gas futures jumped 16.9¢ to $5.401 per million Btu Thursday as weather forecasts delay the point at which refilling storage will begin in earnest. Although the below-average storage withdrawal reported Thursday is likely the last of the heating season, models predict that weekly data will pivot between light injections and withdrawals over the next few weeks. The 12-month strip gained 16¢ to $5.519; the 2023 calendar strip was up 7.8¢ to $4.299 (Futures contracts).
